Getting Started – Required Tasks
This page contains tasks to be completed during your onboarding period (from pre-start to your first day). Follow this checklist and check the instructions of each task to ensure a smooth onboarding experience!
For UK New Hires, check the process below:
If you are being hired in UK, the Right to Work checks are completed via the ‘Rightcheck’ app. The process is as follows:
- Install the app on your phone.
- Click the link received in the text message.
- Have your in-date passport or share code ready.
For candidates with share-codes, we will conduct a video call to verify your identity. If you have a Birth Certificate, the check will be done in person, and details will be sent via email.
For Non-UK New Hires, check the process below:
The verification process is completed by video call, through the following steps:
- Video call
- Details for the video call will be sent to you via email.
- During the video call, you will be required to verify your identity and provide any necessary information.
Document Collection
- In addition to the video call, you will need to submit certain documents to complete the verification process.
- The specific documents required will be outlined in the email you receive with the video call details.

Reminder: applicable to UK & Ireland only
We will shortly begin your background screening in line with the requirements outlined in your hiring documentation. You will receive an email invitation from Sterling/First Advantage, our external background screening provider.
Depending on the requirements of the role, Sterling will ask you to provide:
- Employment verification (Details of your employment history for the last five years (up to three employers), including job titles and dates of employment, along with a contact name, email address, and phone number for each employer. You may be asked to provide proof of employment later, but this is not required at this stage.)
- Education verification (up to two qualifications), including institution name, address, and dates attended
- Criminal Record Check (seven years of address history, including full addresses with postcodes and from/to dates)
- Extended global sanctions screening
- Credit check*
Workday is the WEX employee portal
Within 24 hours of offer acceptance, you will receive two emails from wexinc@myworkday.com. The first will include your Workday username and the URL to access Workday. The second email will include your temporary password.
- Check the emails to login your first time
- Choose a new password
- Once you log in, you will see your onboarding tasks.
- Check the Workday Task Help Guide to help you to complete these tasks.
- Be sure to open and review each carefully as they include time sensitive details and information
Kindly ensure that all tasks are completed before the date mentioned in the email from hr@wexinc.com to ensure we have all your details to enroll you into payroll.

- Edit Government IDs – You will need to press a + sign on the left to add a new line. Regardless of your nationality, under Country please input the country you are working in and not the country you come from. This will then prompt you to choose the document type based on the country you work in and its number. There is no need to input any dates, just the country, document type and number.

- To Do: Change My Photo – you do not have to add your photo if you do not want to, you can also change it at a later time if you wish, but for now please submit this task to complete your onboarding.

On your first day at WEX your initial task will be to log in to your computer.
Remember: Use the login information sent you from your manager. Do Not Attempt to login until your First day.
Your first day will be coordinated by your Hiring Manager; they are preparing everything for your 1st Day!
HR will send you a New Hire Orientation meeting invite on your first day.
