Chard Snyder, a WEX company

Your HR Simplified account will be closed and funds in your account will be moved to your new Chard Snyder account. (Exception: HSA funds will not be moved. See HSA participant details below.) It is very important that you log in to your current HR Simplified account to verify that your email address, home address, and phone number are valid. 

You can access your funds as usual until 5 pm CT on 4/24/24. There will be a “blackout period” from 5 pm CT on 4/24/24 until 8 am CT 5/1/24 during which you will not have access to the funds in your account to allow time for the transition to Chard Snyder. You will not be able to submit claims during this time, and your benefits cards will not be usable. (Does not apply to HSAs.)

Beginning 8 am CT on 5/1/24, you will log in to your new Chard Snyder account in the participant portal on the Chard Snyder website using the following steps:

• Click the light blue Login button in the top right corner of the home page
• Under Participants, click Access Your FSA, HRA, HSA, LSA, Commuter Accounts
• On the Login page under New User, click Get Started 
• Follow the prompts to verify identity and set up credentials.

Beginning 8 am CT on 5/1/24 you will access your new account via the Chard Snyder mobile app. Download it from the App Store or Google Play to manage your account anywhere, any time. You can use the Chard Snyder mobile app to easily check your account balance, submit claims, make payments, scan items for eligibility, snap a photo of a receipt and submit it with your claim, track expenses, and more. 

Yes, your HR Simplified benefits card will be deactivated during the “blackout period” beginning at 5 pm CT on 4/24/24. (Does not apply to HSAs.) Two new Chard Snyder Benefits Cards will be ordered on your behalf and mailed to the address listed on your account. You should receive your new cards by 5/1/24. Both cards will contain the name of the primary account holder; the cards can also be used by your dependents. New cards must be activated before use; call the number on the sticker on the front of the card to activate. 

Continue to submit claims to HR Simplified as you normally do until the “blackout period” begins at 5 pm CT on 4/24/24. During the “blackout period” you will need to pay for expenses out of pocket, keep your receipts, and submit the claim as soon as you have access to your new Chard Snyder account. Beginning 5/1/24, you will submit claims to Chard Snyder in your new participant portal or mobile app.

If you have any benefit card transactions that still require proof of eligible expenses, you will receive a notification from Chard Snyder. (These are not duplicate charges/transactions.) Please log into your new Chard Snyder account to review the details. You may submit your receipt or other documentation via the participant portal or mobile app, or you may fax it with a copy of the request letter to Chard Snyder.

Use of the current HR Simplified fax number to submit savings and spending account claims or documentation ends on 4/24/24 at 5 pm CT. Please do not fax any documents to us during the blackout period. Beginning 5/1/24, you can use the Chard Snyder fax number (888-245-8452) or submit claims and documents via the participant portal or mobile app.

As of 5/1/24, please mail claims and general correspondence to Chard Snyder, P.O. Box 2924, Fargo, ND 58108-2924. Submitting claims via your participant portal or mobile app will provide quicker processing and reimbursement.

No, if you have direct deposit set up for your account today, your banking information will transfer to your Chard Snyder account.

Once your new account with Chard Snyder, a WEX company, is open you can take advantage of some great new features:

Eligible expenses scanner – Within the Chard Snyder mobile app, you’ll find a handy eligible expenses scanner you can use on-the-go while shopping. Just open the app and scan the barcode of any item with your mobile device to learn if it’s an eligible product to purchase with your FSA/HSA funds!

Personalized notifications – Within your new Chard Snyder account, you can personalize your statement and notification preferences (online, paper, email, text). Choose what kind of alert you want to receive for things like your account summary, benefits card transactions, and payments issued. Get the info you want, how you want it!

A new Chard Snyder HSA will be opened for you. You will need to log in to your Chard Snyder online account to accept the Terms & Conditions of your new HSA.

We are also required by federal law to verify your identity during the opening of a new HSA. If you receive a request for documentation, please respond quickly to avoid a delay in the opening of your account.

HSA beneficiary information will not be transferred.  You will need to log in to your new Chard Snyder online account, go to Accounts, then Profile Summary, and designate your HSA beneficiaries. 

If you had previously set up recurring payments from your HR Simplified HSA and want that to continue, you will need to set up recurring payments again in your new account. Start by clicking on the Make HSA Transaction in the participant portal.

Automated payroll HSA contributions will be deposited in your Chard Snyder HSA as of 5/1/24.

Once your Chard Snyder HSA is open and active, you may want to transfer remaining funds in your HR Simplified HSA into your new Chard Snyder HSA. Moving your funds to Chard Snyder will provide the convenience of having just one HSA, one portal, one app, and one benefits card, and help you avoid monthly fees associated with an individual “retail” account. 

Your current HR Simplified HSA will be converted to an individual “retail” account on 5/1/24. At that point, you should decide whether to spend down the money in the account or transfer those funds to your new Chard Snyder HSA. There will be a fee of $25 to close or transfer your account.

Look for more information about transferring your HSA funds to Chard Snyder via email and mailed letter the week of 5/22/24. The email and letter will both include a transfer form. Complete the form and return it as instructed. DO NOT return the form to HR Simplified or Chard Snyder.
